ELIGIBILITY 

Interest in Asia, Japan, or the Japanese artisanal cheese movement, or non-traditional cheesemaking countries. Curious traveler that enjoys cross-cultural dialogue with people of different countries. 

A minimum of 500 hours experience working in the cheese industry acquired within the past five years. 

The tour is only for professionals.

TERMS & REQUIREMENTS  

 • Apply more than 60 days prior to the start of the tour. 

In order to avoid elevated travel fares, and to ensure accommodation, event tickets, and cheese orders, we request that applications be submitted at least 60 days prior to the start of the tour. 

    *For the 2020 Tokyo Insider Tour, the deadline is August 14, 2020.*

 • Submit application that includes:

   1. Personal details

   2. Letter of Intent

Maximum one page letter outlining your motivations to join us in Tokyo, including your personal and professional objectives. This letter is essential to our purpose -- we do our best, within the constraints of time, curriculum, and reason, to adapt to the specific objectives and needs of attendees

   3. Resume/Curriculum Vitae

Demonstrating a minimum of 500 hours experience working in the cheese industry, acquired within the past five years. 

WHAT'S NEXT

All applications are subject to approval before acceptance. 

Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a confirmation. Triple check your email address to ensure that you can easily receive this communication. 

If approved, we will begin discussing travel planning, jet lag, food allergies, and other specifics that will help you prepare (and get excited!). You will receive an invoice with payment options after acceptance.

WAITING LIST

We accept applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all 6 spots have been filled, we will invite interested applicants to join the Waiting List. If there is a vacancy, we will go down the Waiting List to inquire about continued interest in joining the Tokyo Insider Tour.

CANCELLATION

Should you need to cancel your spot on the Tokyo Insider Tour, we will be able to refund the cost up to a $500 fee for costs and service fees up to 3 months in advance. After 3 months, we will only be able to refund the final payment amount of $1,500 due at latest 3 months before the course begins. 

For those needing to cancel, there is also the possibility of deferring to a future Tokyo Insider Tour date. 

The organizers of the Tokyo Insider Tour reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event of insufficient enrollment; in this case we can transfer your enrollment to a future date or process a full refund.
